What you need to get a job in different situations

Employment without experience

If you have no experience at all, then you have the main thing - youth, strength and enthusiasm, which helps to move mountains. Believe in yourself and read below.

Schoolboy

According to the legislation of the Russian Federation, citizens can work from the age of 14. True, with the consent of parents and guardianship authorities and no more than 2 hours a day in free time from school. But even within these reasonable restrictions there is room for choice.

The easiest way to find a job is through the local employment service: as a rule, information about earnings during the summer holidays is posted there in the spring. Most often this is work on the improvement of urban or other areas. When I worked as a teacher in a boarding school, my children cleaned their own school, painted the walls with safe water-based paint, and for this they received money and the first entries in the work book.

Children looking for work

You can also look for vacancies in newspapers and on the Internet. The most popular are the following:

  • promoter,
  • ad sticker,
  • newspaper delivery boy,
  • extras actor (relevant in large cities).

In Nizhny Novgorod, young people I knew found part-time work on the information board of a shopping center. The guys distributed leaflets at a strictly allotted time of 2 hours a day and paid them without deception.

The most important thing is to know about the integrity of the employer. An honest organization enters into an employment contract. If this is not provided, ask your acquaintances and friends: perhaps one of them has already collaborated with the company and can vouch for it.

It is much more difficult to get a job in a small town, and such vacancies simply do not exist. But the following options are possible:

  • look for a summer job at a children's camp. Sometimes the administration is ready to hire a cleaner or kitchen assistant from among minors;
  • find remote work. We have already written about what a schoolchild can do on the Internet.

From the age of 16, daily working hours increase to 4 hours on school days and to 7 hours on holidays. Therefore, employers are more willing to hire young people as employees.

Those who want to work hard can knock on fast food chains like McDonald's. Information about vacancies is located directly in the cafe; the application form can be filled out there or on the website.

Student

If you are reading this paragraph, it means that you are already thinking about looking for a job. And they did it right! The more experience you have by the time you graduate, the more interesting you will be to an employer. Let's just agree: we'll leave shifts at McDonald's for the first year at best, unless you're planning a career in this company.

The times when future economists and philologists spent the summer on train crews and in the winter cleaning theater stages (this is a description of my and my fellow students’ experience in the early 2000s) are gone. Today, there are fewer and fewer students working in the railways and other low-skilled jobs: young people prefer to build a career from a young age.

Where to work for a student

Therefore, we set goals, priorities and follow the call of the labor market. This means we are looking for a job that is as consonant with the future as possible, but not to the detriment of the present. We focus on developing the necessary qualities and the ability to combine them with studies. The recommendations are as follows:

  1. If you need skills in communicating with clients, resolving conflict situations, or sales, you can consider the following positions: promoter, waiter, call center operator, manager. You can often choose convenient working hours, and some organizations offer career advancement opportunities.
  2. Experience working with children, acting and organizational skills are being developed in the field of animation, quests, and playgrounds. Work is usually in the evenings or on weekends. In the summer, go as a camp counselor, including to the sea. Do you dream of becoming a teacher? Go to your home school - if they don’t give you a half-time job, they may well allow you to teach lessons free of charge.
  3. Administrative work can be started in the trade union committee, at the department or in the admissions committee. Always make arrangements to attend classes. The salary will be lower than the market one, but you will be aware of all university events and receive good recommendations.
  4. If you dream of working in a promising company, start with an internship. Don’t be lazy to go around and propose your candidacy yourself. The management notices active and conscientious students and attracts them to the staff.
  5. It’s possible for correspondence students to get a job through the TC – they will also pay for the sessions. Until you decide on a job, go to the employment service: they will offer you several reliable vacancies, and if you don’t suit them, they will register you.

Graduate

Have you received a diploma of education, but the requirements for vacancies in your specialty indicate work experience everywhere? Don't be upset, the situation is not hopeless. Experienced HR specialists advise:

  1. Often in a job description, some items are rather desirable. So feel free to send your resume. Honestly indicate that you have no experience, but be sure to mention about practice or internship on a similar topic. Describe your business qualities - perhaps they will help make a choice in your favor.
  2. Clarify for yourself all possible career options. Which position are you ready to work in and which one will definitely not suit you? Don’t be lazy to check with your friends - perhaps what seems tempting to you is actually not very attractive from the inside, and what scares you is not so scary.
  3. If there is an opportunity to take a position a step lower than the desired one, do not be afraid to choose this option. At the same time, clarify the prospects for career growth at the enterprise.
  4. Research internships in areas that interest you. Typically, announcements about this are published on the Internet on thematic resources (at the end of the article you will find a useful list), but you can also look at company websites.
  5. During the interview, show your willingness to learn and confidence in your abilities. My boss refused to give a job to a serious woman only because during the conversation she kept repeating: “For some reason I’m afraid to work in such a responsible position!”
  6. It is better to start looking for a job immediately after receiving your diploma, without delaying until the fall. Otherwise, while you are relaxing at sea, more agile classmates will take your place.

How to look for a job correctly - 7 practical tips for finding a job

The right approach to finding a job is half or even most of the success.

It is not so important whether you have experience and knowledge, whether you have graduated from a university or only 9 years of school, the main factor is: self-confidence, awareness, desire to develop and improve. Our tips will also help you find a good job - read them carefully and be sure to put them into practice.

Tip 1. Be persistent and methodical - do you want to SEARCH for a job or FIND one?

Perseverance, methodicality, a systematic approach and theoretical preparation are the leading factors of success. Decide what you really want - to look for a job or find one?

There is a category of people who, when looking for a job, gradually forget about their main goal and spend months and even years searching for a place that supposedly suits them perfectly in all respects.

“I’m looking for a job” is a good psychological shield against claims from family members and relatives. Do not forget that you need to look for a job only in order to find one, improve your quality of life and change your financial status.

Important: job search is also a kind of work! You should approach this as seriously and responsibly as you would any other job. Once you have compiled your resume, do not forget to update it and post it on several sites. Send it to all employers who are at least theoretically interested in you. It doesn’t matter if you seem pushy—companies, as a rule, value persistent and energetic employees.

A good example

One of our acquaintances named Victor has been looking for a job for about a year and a half, but has not yet found a place.

Searching for vacancies became his kind of daily ritual. He regularly looked at job search sites, wrote down phone numbers and details of companies, and often called potential employers. Sometimes I even went to interviews.

Even if he was quite satisfied with the salary and other factors, he still found some point where the job was not suitable for him.

The boss is a woman, the office is in a non-prestigious area, there is no water cooler in the workplace. In other words, Victor simply did not want to get a job, but wanted to look for one and create the appearance of activity.

With this approach, the chances of improving your life are certainly minimal.

Tip 2. What is better to choose – a highly paid job or a job you like?

The ideal, of course, is to have a well-paid job that you enjoy. But in practice, a highly profitable place is not always to your liking.

The question raised in the title of this paragraph is decided by everyone individually.

Psychologists insist that it is better to do what you like, even if this business does not immediately bring high income.

  • Firstly , any job involves the development of professional skills. Perhaps the salary is not too high at the moment, but by increasing your qualifications and level, you can always count on an increase in income.
  • Secondly , going to a job that you don’t like, like going to hard labor, experiencing negative emotions, is harmful to your health.

The immune system directly depends on our psycho-emotional state: it has been proven that people who do things they don’t like and perceive work as a “necessary evil” are more likely to develop infectious and chronic diseases.

A person spends a significant part of his life at work. Do you want to be constantly depressed, complain about life, sleep poorly and count the minutes until the end of the working day? We are sure not.

So, make a choice in favor of the vacancy that you personally like, and not your husband (wife, mother-in-law, dad, mom).

Tip 3. Use as many different job search options as possible

Diversify your search as much as possible. The more job search methods you use, the higher your likelihood of success. In the next section of the article we will look at them more carefully, identifying the advantages (and possible disadvantages) of each of them.

Tip 4: Write an effective resume

There are certain rules for writing a resume that you should follow if you want to impress the employer as a prepared, motivated and serious person. A resume is the first thing an employer bases his conclusions on when considering a specific candidate for an applicant.

Stand out at the resume stage

The summary should be:

  • Concise and containing only relevant and important information. The employer usually does not have time to read your extensive and detailed essays, so the information should be posted as concisely, effectively, and correctly as possible. You should not describe your life path in the “about yourself” column, starting from kindergarten. It should contain information that is useful to the employer, emphasizing your professional merits or demonstrating your ability to work in a team.
  • Written without errors or logical inconsistencies. Even if you are hired as a turner at a factory, you must show yourself to be a competent and responsible person: fortunately, nowadays it is not difficult to check a text for errors. The ability to present information in a logical and structured manner is a quality that is valued in any position.
  • Well designed. Each column in this document is assigned a specific place. If you write about your professional and personal qualities in one section or are careless in the design of your resume, HR specialists are unlikely to bombard you with invitations for an interview.

Work on your resume for several hours, approaching the matter seriously and thoroughly: after that, you can safely send it to online agencies, specific companies, personnel services or job exchanges. We already have a popular article on our website about how to write a resume correctly.

The resume must include: personal and contact information, wishes for future work, experience, professional skills, education, existing awards and professional diplomas.

You can also create your resume using the Simpledoc online service. The service is very simple and easy to use. You can immediately send your resume to the employer or print it.

Tip 5. Prepare for the interview

Of course, your professionalism and knowledge provide 80% of success, but what also matters is the impression you make on the employer's representative during the interview.

Be confident during the interview

All 100% of the ingredients for success are important, so we have selected 19 rules for applicant behavior during an interview:

  1. Complete the first stage successfully – the telephone interview. Speak confidently, firmly, clearly. Already here you must interest your interlocutor and declare the seriousness of your intentions.
  2. Pass a successful written interview - fill out the questionnaire correctly, take your time, but also don’t think about each point for too long.
  3. The initial impression of a person is formed in the first 10 seconds; it will be difficult to influence it later. Therefore, do everything to ensure that the first moments of the conversation are as beneficial as possible for your image.
  4. Don't forget to say hello and smile during the conversation. You can tell your interlocutor that you are glad to meet you in person. Call your interlocutor by name.
  5. If you are offered coffee during an interview, do not refuse. This drink invigorates and increases brain activity.
  6. Clearly imagine the goal - visualize it. This is how champions become.
  7. Prepare for the interview in advance - find out everything about the company, go to its website. A candidate who doesn't care where to work may seem uninteresting.
  8. If you feel that you are too nervous, you can drink Novopassit: this harmless medicine eliminates worries, relaxes, and gives confidence.
  9. Learn from every experience. Even if a particular interview did not result in hiring, analyze it. If appropriate and possible, ask the employer for feedback.
  10. Read the most current and up-to-date book about your profession.
  11. Turn off your phone before your interview.
  12. Take care of fresh breath, clean body and clothes.
  13. Wear your best watch - it will raise your status.
  14. Don't forget to have breakfast (or lunch) before your interview. It feels worse on an empty stomach, and if it's been a while since you've eaten, it can affect your glucose levels and cause headaches and stress.
  15. NLP experts advise adapting to the pace of your interlocutor’s speech, adopting a similar posture, and using his linguistic constructs.
  16. Find out in advance about the company dress code (if there is one).
  17. Make a list of your achievements and in conversation (if appropriate) mention them.
  18. Go to the hairdresser. Men tend to overestimate their appearance.
  19. Don't forget to go to the toilet. It's a cliché, but a full bladder can cause haste, incorrect answers, and unnecessary stress.

Be prepared for a stressful interview. To do this, it is worth studying the company’s operating methods and reading information on this topic on the Internet. Sometimes recruiters ask seemingly completely irrelevant questions in order to assess the stress tolerance of the interlocutor and his ability to work under pressure.

Even such “crazy” questions are possible:

  • “How would you solve your life problems if you lived on Mars?”
  • “How much does the plane weigh?”
  • “What is an unusual way to break a watch?” And so on.

The interlocutor does not expect precise answers from you: he needs to demonstrate your ability to improvise and creative thinking.

Our article on how to pass a job interview will help you pass an interview successfully.

Tip 6. Beware of scammers

The scammers, in this case, are companies that either want you to work for free or are hoping to get your money. Online fraud is especially common. It is not easy to distinguish honest employers from scammers: scammers know how to inspire trust and make an impression.

The truest rule

If someone wants you to transfer a certain amount of money to a certain account (down payment, loyalty check, payment for textbooks or materials), you are most likely being scammed.

Tip 7. Prayer for work is your additional helper

A prayer-appeal to the Orthodox Saint Spyridon of Trimifunt helps believers find a good job.

This saint and miracle worker, who lived at the beginning of our era, helps those in need gain confidence, independence, and find their life’s work.

They pray to Saint Spyridon during troubles in life, financial difficulties, and lack of work.

Text of prayer for work ().

For pregnant

It is not easy for a woman in this position to find a job. Not only does it take a while for work to be found, but my belly is also growing – it’s about to give out. It’s good if your health allows you to attend interviews. Otherwise, you will have to wait for a more favorable moment, carefully thinking through your camouflage wardrobe.

How to find a job while pregnant

The main goal now is to find an organization that will provide for a child up to one and a half years old. This can be either a government or a commercial structure, if they are ready to hire you officially.

Of course, it is better to inform the boss after employment. It is unlikely that he will be happy for you, but family is more important than the opinion of the manager.

As soon as you find out about your pregnancy, immediately order yourself a certificate of no criminal record. It is likely that you won’t find a good job and will have to work as a nanny in a kindergarten or similar institution. This document will come in handy there.

Unfortunately, there are often cases when a woman in this position is forced to resign of her own free will. Therefore, if you are not sure that you have the strength to resist pressure from above, choose your company carefully. It may be worth choosing a less lucrative but more reliable job. Contact your employment service for advice.

Night shifts and other harmful factors are now undesirable. But in extreme cases, you will have to agree to this: perhaps later you will be able to agree on a schedule with the team.

Remember that the convulsive thought “I want a job at any cost” should not give you away. Try to interest the employer with your personal and business qualities. This will help you go on maternity leave easier later.

For a woman after maternity leave

Often, after leaving maternity leave, a woman has to change jobs. Finding a job is much more difficult for her than for a girl without children. Although the opposite is also observed: employers are often afraid of candidates of childbearing age, especially married ones. It is believed that as soon as they get hooked on a place, they will immediately go on maternity leave.

Mom needs stability, she is not inclined to quit, and this is her advantage. And, although the employer is afraid of frequent sick leave, employment is possible.

Women in government organizations feel the most protected: they have sick leave paid without any problems. But, if they hire you unofficially and let you go “to get sick,” and the salary is higher than in a government institution, it’s worth considering this option. Finally, there is always the possibility of home working or freelancing. Here is more information about who a freelancer is and what he does.

The most important thing when writing a resume is to indicate that there is someone to look after the child. If you live close to work, do not forget to inform about this - this is a significant plus for the employer.

And, of course, while on maternity leave, continue to improve your professional skills if possible (or acquire new ones if you cannot return to your previous activities). Evidence from courses and trainings is the best evidence of your professional competence and desire to develop.

Polina worked in all sorts of jobs while she had her little daughter! And a salesperson in a mini-market with a strict schedule (the girl was with her grandmother), and a nanny in a kindergarten when it was time to socialize the baby. But Polina’s soul always asked for creativity. One day she went to the Ariel Christmas tree decoration factory, well known far beyond Russia, completed a test task and got a job as an artist. And the flexible schedule made it possible to have time to drop off and pick up the child from kindergarten.

Employment after maternity leave

Children are growing up, and after maternity leave women want to go to work. If a woman officially went on maternity leave, she will be able to return to her previous duties without any problems. But what to do if a woman was unemployed or did not work at all before pregnancy. This issue can be resolved, but you need to carefully prepare for the interview.

Typically, many employers are reluctant to hire women with small children who have small children. After all, everyone understands perfectly well that kindergarten is first and foremost a breeding ground for diseases. And accordingly, the newly hired employee will have to be constantly sent on sick leave. Accordingly, the amount of work that is assigned to the woman will not be completed on time.

Therefore, many employers simply refuse to hire such women. But this does not mean that a woman will not be able to find a decent job. Having experience in this matter will only be a plus. It is necessary to look at the work schedule so that you do not have to ask for time off if there is no one to pick up your child from kindergarten. In this situation, it is better to find a job with official employment. Having received full social. package, a woman has the right to count on long-term paid leave and paid sick leave.

Work for retirees

In modern Russian realities, rarely anyone can afford to leave their workplace on their anniversary. People most often are driven by need to continue working, but there are other reasons:

  • desire to remain useful to society;
  • the need to do what you love (many teachers do not go on a well-deserved vacation without graduating);
  • loneliness, boredom at home.

According to the experience of my friends, pensioners are hired much more willingly than people of pre-retirement age. Older candidates are hired at enterprises where there is no career growth, high wages, frequent business trips, or new technologies. According to statistics, every fourth company in Russia is ready to hire a pensioner.

In most cases, these are pedagogy, housing and communal services, security organizations, culture and art (wardrobe attendants and cashiers in provincial theaters).

The strengths of this age category are:

  • old school - responsibility, diligence;
  • desire to stay in the workplace;
  • rich life experience.

Pensioners successfully realize themselves in creative professions (tutor, circle teacher, tour guide), in areas related to their considerable experience (selling flowers, seeds, handicrafts). You can recommend home-based or remote work, searching for orders via the Internet, and self-employment.

Additional income for people of retirement age

Pensioners are often unable to live on their pension, so they often have to look for additional income. Is it possible for an elderly person who is already receiving a pension to get a job? Perhaps, but there is one caveat. Pensioners who are looking for work may be officially employed, but in this situation their pension will not increase due to recalculation. Therefore, it is not always beneficial to seek official employment.

What does a retiree need to get a job?

Of course, in addition to the lack of recalculation, another problem arises - difficulty in finding a job due to age. Many employers prefer younger and more promising employees who can work hard and possibly contribute to the development of the company. Therefore, most often the age is limited.

In addition, most retirees prefer to look for work informally. This is the most profitable way: you have the opportunity to receive a full salary and not lose additional pension accruals.

Not all employers are skeptical about older people. After all, older people do not aspire to higher salaries. First of all, this is due to the amount of work that a person has to perform. In old age, this becomes not so easy.

When choosing a job, you should not choose something new. It is enough to look for a job that does not require additional effort. A person who is already retired has quite a lot of experience behind him, so he can easily implement his acquired skills in a new workplace.

Employment of citizens with a criminal record

There are industries where citizens with a criminal record are not allowed to enter. These are the court and prosecutor's office, military service, pedagogy, banking and some others. A police clearance certificate is required from the applicant here. But other organizations are in no hurry to accept a person “with a past.”

The situation is complicated by the fact that some employers have access to the Ministry of Internal Affairs database. It is not difficult for them to identify a previously convicted candidate, even if the application form states the opposite. According to the law, such a questionnaire discriminates against citizens, so it is unlawful to fire an employee for false data in it. But in practice, everything happens differently. All this significantly limits the human right to free work.

In this situation, experts advise:

  1. Contact your local employment center or social center for adaptation of persons released from prison for legal and informational support.
  2. Try to remove your criminal record. This right is established by law. A police certificate and a reference from the place of residence will be required.
  3. Look for any available income with the help of friends.
  4. Open an individual entrepreneur (taxi, making photocopies).
  5. Or consider remote work.

Required papers

The package of documents that may be required for employment is regulated by Art. 65 Labor Code of the Russian Federation. It includes:

  • Identity document (for example, passport).
  • Employment history.
  • SNILS. During initial employment, the employer is responsible for issuing an insurance certificate for a newly hired employee.
  • Military ID (you can use the registration certificate). All persons who may be called upon to serve are required to provide it.
  • Diploma or other certificate of education (an attachment indicating grades may be useful). Used as evidence that the applicant has the required education and qualifications required for the position. In addition to a diploma, you may need a special certificate (for example, for the profession of an excavator driver) or a driver’s license with the required category (if you are hired as a driver).
  • A document confirming or refuting a criminal record. Some businesses are legally prohibited from hiring a candidate who has problems with the law.
  • Medical certificate (form 086/у). This document must clearly state contraindications to performing certain types of work (if the applicant has any). For similar reasons, this certificate is required if the candidate is under 18 years of age.
  • A health certificate will be required when applying for employment in the food industry, selling food products and other similar activities. You can obtain the book at the Sanitary and Epidemiological Supervision office at the location of the candidate for the position.

Important: the only document required when applying for a job is a passport. Other data is provided depending on the employer's requirements.

A work record is not always required when applying for a job. Its absence is acceptable in the following situations:

  • The job applicant is employed for the first time. The document will be opened by the employer.
  • In case of loss or damage. When hiring, you should notify the employer about this so that the latter can open a new job.
  • When employed part-time.

After the termination of the working relationship, the work book is returned to the owner.

For a second job

If there is a need for a part-time job or you want to spend your free time usefully, a second job can come in handy.

Compared to part-time work at your usual place, it even has a number of advantages:

  • fresh energy of a new activity;
  • additional acquaintances;
  • the opportunity to combine work and hobbies (running a hobby group).

The most important thing when looking for a second job is to combine it not only with the first, but also with free time, otherwise there will be no strength left at all. However, as practice shows, not having time to live is more a fear than a reality. As soon as any additional workload appears, an organized person redistributes time, changes the pace and rhythm of life and, most valuable, finds thousands of activities that can be sacrificed. For example, watching TV and long telephone conversations.

In the recent past, Martha combined a 1/3 schedule in one place with a 2/2 schedule in another. At the same time, she managed (although not always) to go to yoga, take an English class, “dabble” in Italian in her free time, work part-time on quizzes (intellectual team games) once a month, and even occasionally go to the seaside, asking for time off from all her bosses at once.

How to write a resume? What to write about work experience?

The general recommendation is that you need to “isolate”, confirm and indicate your “soft” and “hard” skills, as well as the tools and degree of proficiency in them. Let's consider two options.

“Yesterday’s student” – no experience at all

What to include in your resume?

  • Details about education: not just an indication of the educational institution and the full name of the professional field according to the diploma (correct!), but also a list of internships and internships with responsibilities, specialization, research topics, achievements, volunteering (only if it was in the profile of the desired job !). Letters of recommendation from internships will be a plus. All this will increase the chances of getting a job without work experience.
  • Proficiency in tools (special programs, equipment, etc.) There is no need to limit yourself to a dry list (Autocad, Compass), it is worth writing about your skills in detail (I can/can read/correct/did, under the guidance of a teacher, schematic diagrams of the internal electrical supply of buildings in the AutoCAD program ).
  • Portfolio of works (link), even if they were educational or performed for free.
  • Professional interests.

So, an important recommendation on how to get a job without work experience is to correctly “present” your skills. It is important for a beginner to be especially careful when preparing a resume: a high-quality photo, literacy, a link to social networks (and it is advisable to “clean up” the page). Look at the article on Kadrof.ru on how to make a good resume.

“Changing profile” – I have experience, but it’s in a different area

What should you write?

  • It is necessary to briefly list all experience, even if it is not relevant to your profile. But in the description of responsibilities it is worth trying to “isolate” skills that may be useful in a new place. The seller wants to become a marketer - it makes sense to indicate that he took part in the design of promotions, promoted the store’s page on social networks, etc. The accountant decided to retrain as a programmer: it would be reasonable to clarify that he had experience in mastering 1C from scratch, issuing tasks to the technical department for improvements in the program, testing and tracking errors, etc.
  • Give reasons for wanting to work in a new direction.
  • List what has been done to “repurpose”: completed courses or self-study, completed trial work (even if it was free). Now there are many free courses, after which you can get a certificate and confirm your qualifications. Example: free course on contextual advertising in Netology.

Portfolio

especially important when looking for your first remote job. Even if there haven’t been any orders yet, it’s worth completing them for a “hypothetical” client and adding them to your portfolio. A remote employer has virtually no other tools to judge the skills of a potential employee. Look at the article on Kadrof.ru on how to make a portfolio, examples and examples of a good portfolio.

With a good income

Most people are interested in high-paying jobs. However, a significant part of the population does not go completely in this direction. For various reasons, we are forced to accept compromises.

How do you still find a good job?

  1. First of all, set yourself this goal. Determine your desired income level and don’t lower the bar.
  2. Decide that you will definitely achieve your goal.
  3. Please note that this will take time. Calculate how long you are willing to wait without much damage to your wallet and nerves.
  4. Think about what specialty could provide you with the required salary. What would you like, could, and definitely would not do?
  5. What lengths are you willing to go to for a high salary? Will you be able to spend more time on the road, travel frequently on business trips, or even change your place of residence? It is also useful to evaluate moral aspects: some job responsibilities may run counter to your character and life principles.

High-paying jobs come in different forms. This can be either hard work in the North or office pastime in the capital. If your goal involves not only big money, but also high social status, the tips are as follows:

  1. A decent salary awaits a worthy candidate. Your self-confidence should show through not only between the lines of your resume, but throughout your appearance. So work on yourself. Improve your self-esteem, qualifications, experience and business skills.
  2. Create an attractive resume. Don’t be lazy to seek the help of a professional and don’t skimp on it. And if you want to become a personal assistant to an executive, we have already prepared tips for writing a resume for you.
  3. Send out a questionnaire to attractive companies. Try to show each of them its usefulness.
  4. At the same time, apply for vacancies from websites - preferably the most interesting ones.
  5. At the same time, improve your skills. Are you firmly confident that you will get a good job? This means that attending courses will not be in vain. Perhaps you will find a place there.

...and add needs

According to one survey, only less than 1% of Russians admit that they love their job - but this is what usually allows them to achieve better results. Most of these workers are in sales, education, tourism and the restaurant business. And you should not think that love for work is measured by money - rather, it is the entire return that an employee receives in response to his work.

Therefore, in searching for your ideal job, you need to pay attention not only to the material side (although you shouldn’t forget about it either). For example, Lyudmila Chernova from ICL Services

says that everyone is looking for a “good job,” but everyone puts their own meaning into these words:

I confirm 100% that the most popular answer from a candidate to an “interview” is: “My goal is to find a good job!” During the conversation, it turns out that for each candidate the expectations from “good work” are very individual. “Good work” can manifest itself in everything: new functionality, a new field of activity, the scale of the company, projects, modern technologies, the opportunity for professional and career growth, training, a cool atmosphere, being a member of a team of experienced colleagues, working under the guidance of a talented manager, etc. Many candidates determine a good job by the type of office, location (in the countryside or in the city center), working conditions, and social package.

Lyudmila Chernova

In other words, every applicant should know what exactly he is looking for, and what kind of job would be ideal for him (or at least just “good”). That is, whether to agree to a “non-ideal” job or not is everyone’s business, but it is best to try to analyze and imagine the work process in a new place in advance.

An approximate list of points worth remembering was given by HR consultant Elena Belyaeva:

1. Everyone’s favorite point is the level of compensation. It is compensation, not wages, because the salary may be slightly lower than your expectations, but at the same time the company provides food, corporate transport, its own gym, and other benefits that can more than compensate for the salary that falls short of your level . Bonuses are also important - both their maximum possible value and the likelihood of receiving this bonus. It’s better to find out this right away during the interview, so that it doesn’t turn out that you are focusing on the maximum bonus, but the company is very strict about evaluating the work of employees, and the maximum is in fact not achievable.

2. The next point, which is often even more important than the first, is the content of the work. That is, what you will do every day, coming to the office, to production, going out into the fields, etc. How internally are you ready to carry out the tasks that the company sets for you? You can, of course, do a job you don’t like for a lot of money, but you will either not be able to do it for long, or you will always be in a state of stress and displeasure from your activities, which will ultimately negatively affect all aspects of your work and even your health .

3. Corporate culture. This is about how people communicate with each other in a team, about how work is structured, about whether the company treats you as a person or just as a resource. This is an environment in which you will spend an average of 40 hours a week. What culture are you ready to work in? In one where tasks are clearly set and their implementation is monitored step by step? Or the one where you are given a task and will not be told how to solve it? Where people communicate not only on work topics or where there is a strict hierarchy and where it is not possible to go to the manager because you need to make an appointment with him several days in advance?

4. Leader. What kind of boss would you like to work with? Powerful and charismatic? With a more democratic one, committed to the development of its people? With someone who won’t bother you, but who can’t be caught in the act? It’s not for nothing that they say that “people come to work for a good company, but leave a bad manager.” Of course, this is not a 100% rule, but in practice it happens that you don’t get along well with your manager at the level of “relationship chemistry,” and working even in a great company becomes unbearable.

By the way, as for the material side of the issue, there is no single value - everything depends on the region. For example, in Moscow, applicants need an average of 104 thousand rubles

(despite the fact that most Muscovites are believed to work for about 80 thousand rubles), in St. Petersburg they want to earn 102 thousand, and the average in Russia is 92 thousand rubles per month.

Should I set high salary requirements? The question is complex: on the one hand, an employer may refuse to respond to a resume if it considers the salary requirements to be inadequate to the market. On the other hand, if you “underestimate” yourself, you can earn less than colleagues with exactly the same responsibilities. It is believed that ideally you need to indicate a salary 10-30% higher than at your current place of work.

Of course, miracles don’t happen, and it’s unlikely that anyone will offer a job that will 100% meet all expectations. And then it’s better to decide on priorities - which requests will be more important and which will not, advises Elena Shchulkina from HR-connect:

Finding a good job is already half the job. It takes time, diligence and preparation.

To begin with, determine the main criteria that are important to you in your future job. For students, flexible schedules and stable payments, the opportunity to gain experience in their profession or useful contacts are relevant.

You will get a list of 5-6 main factors that are important to you and 1-2 factors that are the most important. Let's say this is the development of professionally significant skills and getting to know colleagues in your profession, so-called networking.

If it is difficult to create criteria for choosing a job, describe what you absolutely do not want to do. Sometimes it helps to push away from the opposite and find your goals.

Next, we analyze the labor market: in which companies it is possible to realize your main goals, No. 1 and No. 2.

It’s good if you get a list of 8-10 companies that are most suitable for you. Popular job sites will help you here (pay attention not only to open vacancies, but also to the description of the employing company), official websites and social networks of companies. Carefully study all possible sources to get a complete picture of the potential employer.

Ideally, we recommend making a top list of companies that meet all your criteria, from the most attractive to the acceptable.

So, if the requirements for a new job are clear and the resume has been drawn up, the main thing remains - the job search process itself.

How to find your dream job

Instead of a thousand words, you can limit yourself to one story.

From her youth, Marya dreamed of not just some profession - she wanted to make all people happy. A jack of all trades, Marya weaves, draws, and makes dolls. She created a school of needlewomen “Bereginya” in Ufa. Education and experience in organizational work helped. This was the first stage of its implementation.

In 2015, one of the school’s partners invited participants to a Thai yoga massage class - since then, Marya’s interest in this type of activity has only been growing. According to her, this way you can make a lot more people happy.

Having adopted the experience of the best masters in Russia, the girl began to practice on friends. Gradually, amateur activities turned into income. She finds clients through word of mouth and, despite the existing public page on VKontakte, she considers this tool the most effective for promoting her services. The girl pays a lot of attention to education and self-education. Without leaving her homeland, Marya received a Thai certificate and now dreams of an internship in Thailand.

Now Marya is not just a masseuse, but the creator of a traveling Thai yoga massage salon. Three other girls with a similar philosophy work under her leadership. They make three whole cities happy: Ufa, Chelyabinsk and Yekaterinburg.

Marya values her work for positive emotions and the opportunity to understand psychotherapeutic practices through massage (massage and psychology are linked together for her).

How to find a job

How to force yourself to get a job

Dedicated to those who believe that all other points are not for him.

Usually, reluctance to work is associated with self-doubt (including fear of rejection at an interview), disappointment in previous activities, or basic laziness.

If you like the state of inaction, you are unlikely to force yourself to change it. Unless you find something that doesn’t take up too much time, like freelancing. If the thickness of your wallet does not allow you to relax, it means that you will definitely look for a job – it’s a matter of time.

Here's how to boost motivation the right way:

  1. Reboot (leave your comfort zone: go hiking, visit your family, etc.)
  2. Make a list of wishes that would come true with your next paycheck.
  3. Stop being afraid of rejection. If they didn’t pick it up in one place, they’re waiting in another. If you need work at any cost, you can lower the bar of desires.
  4. Consider all possible and impossible options. Who knows what horizons will open before you? A good idea for free people is seasonal work in another region: the level of adrenaline rises and the pace of life increases.
  5. Learn a new craft. Never hurt.
  6. Ask friends for help. Anyone who doesn’t recommend a specific place to work will be able to tell you who they see you as. Sometimes it is prophetically true.

Good luck to everyone who is open to new opportunities!

How to send a resignation letter by mail?

According to Valentina Yakovleva, for this the employee needs to write a statement in the general manner; it does not need to be certified by a notary. You can write in it that the period is counted from the moment the application is received. The document must also be dated and signed. “It is necessary to put this application in an envelope and send it to the employer in a valuable letter with a list of the contents,” the expert added.

If the application is sent by telegram, the employee’s signature must be certified by a postal employee.
