Replacing a military ID when changing your last name

Do I need to change my military ID when changing my last name?

Replacing a military ID when changing your last name

A military ID is a type of document that can be used as an identification document. Also, in addition to this, it contains information about the place of service, position, and profession of the owner.

It is provided to people liable for military service or to those who have studied military service, are in the reserve, and also if they have graduated from an educational institution that has a military department.

In Russia there is a law called “On Personal Data”. It says that all changeable personal information must be updated in your personal documents. A military ID is also classified as this type of document.

Based on this, by virtue of the current law, in case of updating the surname, it is necessary to update the ticket. If the change is not made, the military ID will lose its relevance and automatically become invalid; its owner will no longer be able to use it.

To date, fines in this case are not provided for by the law of the Russian Federation.

. How to correctly replace a surname on a ticket is indicated in the internal regulations of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

Buying a registered property: what are the risks?

All attempts to evade military service balance on the brink of a crime, and the acquisition of a false document can become the basis for bringing a citizen to criminal liability. Acquisition of a “false” certificate, according to Art. 327 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, is punishable by arrest for 180 days or a fine in the amount of 80 thousand rubles. Using a forged document can also lead to a more serious punishment - up to two years in prison, but the fact that it is a “fake” comes to light without much difficulty, and here’s why.

The registration certificate is a strict reporting form, to which only military registration and enlistment office employees have access, the “venality” of which can be doubted, given the punishment awaiting dishonest employees. Therefore, the option of purchasing a “Xiva” “through the military registration and enlistment office” can be dismissed immediately. But there is another one, which involves involving “traditional craftsmen” in solving the problem, who are capable of making a seal from a piece of rubber, forging any signature and printing any document on printing equipment or a color printer. Such low-quality fakes are easily identified with the naked eye, therefore, if the registration certificate is irretrievably lost, then you need to come to the military registration and enlistment office and make a duplicate.

Why do they change their military ID?

When considering the question of why a military ID is changed, it is worth understanding that this document may be needed at any time, and is necessary when applying for a job and registering for various social services.

This document is a source of information about a conscript’s service in the army. Such information is required when applying for employment in government and law enforcement agencies. A military ID is required to be presented when applying for a foreign passport, visa, or changing your registration with moving to another place of residence.

Presentation of a valid military ID allows you to quickly obtain the necessary service and get a good job; therefore, if the document is damaged or personal data changes, it must be changed.

. The documents you need to prepare depend on where you go. In order to accurately find out all the nuances, a citizen can contact the relevant authority and find out on the spot the exact list of necessary documents.

The advantage of submitting documents to the MFC is that they will need to be submitted to one window or one office. When applying to the military registration and enlistment office, you need to go through several offices to collect signatures and information.

On registration and registration of military personnel at the unit

Registration of military personnel at the place of service is not required, but registration is required, despite the fact that they belong to a special category of civil servants. Registration at the address of a military unit is possible upon the arrival of a serviceman at a new place of residence, before receiving housing in accordance with established living space standards.

First of all, it is necessary to obtain documentary evidence that the serviceman and his family members need housing. This is done at the housing department (passport office) at the place of arrival. The registration itself at a military unit can be carried out by the command, in cooperation with officials of the passport office. To do this, you need to submit a report to the commander of the military unit where the service is taking place.

Partial registration is also possible for members of his family (spouse, children). This is also possible when living on the territory of a military unit in a service apartment. When a serviceman rents or has an apartment outside the unit, he can obtain temporary or permanent registration at his residence address.

Distant relatives, parents and dependents can register at the place of service of a military personnel. If the unit command rejects such a report, arguing that the citizens are not family members, then a decision from a civil court is required to recognize them as family members. Having in hand a written refusal and a court decision to recognize a relative as a family member, you should apply to a military court with a demand to remove obstacles to the exercise of the rights of the serviceman and his family members.

Grounds for repeated medical examination of citizens in reserve.

In accordance with paragraph 4 of Article 52 of the Federal Law “On Military Duty and Military Service,” a citizen who is in the reserve undergoes a medical examination to determine his suitability for military service in accordance with the Regulations on Military Medical Examination.

This article of the Federal Law approves the procedure for undergoing a medical examination for citizens in the reserves (if you are assigned fitness category “B”, then by decision of the draft commission you are enrolled in the reserves of the Russian Armed Forces).

In accordance with the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation dated July 4, 2013 N 565 “On approval of the regulations on military medical examination”:

Military medical commissions are entrusted with organizing and conducting medical examinations of citizens in the reserves of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

To conduct a medical examination of citizens in the reserves of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, by decision of the head of the executive body of a constituent entity of the Russian Federation, the head of a local government body, adopted on the recommendation of the relevant military commissar, specialist doctors and nursing staff of institutions of state and municipal health care systems are involved .

Carrying out medical examinations of citizens in the reserves is carried out by military commissariats. A citizen who is in the reserves of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation may be sent for an outpatient or inpatient medical examination to clarify the diagnosis of the disease.

After changing the fitness category “B” to category “B” or “A”, can they be called up for military service?

If you have been assigned a new fitness category “A” or “B” after a repeat medical examination, this does not mean that you can now be called up for military service. An obstacle to conscription is the fact that you are enlisted in the reserves of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. The assignment of a new fitness category does not cancel the decision to enlist in the reserves.

After a conscript has been assigned fitness category “B,” the draft commission makes decisions: on exemption from conscription for military service, on enlisting the citizen in the reserves of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

In accordance with subparagraph “a” of paragraph 1 of Article 22 of the Federal Law “On Military Duty and Military Service”, the following are subject to conscription for military service: male citizens aged 18 to 27 years, registered with the military or not, but required to be registered military registration and not in reserve.

Thus, citizens in the reserve are not subject to conscription for military service.

Reasons for replacing the VB?

The important point is that it is not possible to simply replace military personnel. There must be clear reasons for this.

In particular, the reasons may be the following:

  1. Change of name.
  2. Damage to the “little book” due to an accident or due to natural wear and tear.
  3. Change of citizenship.
  4. Inability to make various entries if individual pages are damaged or there are corrections.
  5. The article indicating restrictions on military service was removed.

It is worth noting that if a document is damaged, it is important to prove that it was done unintentionally, otherwise the commissariat employees may consider that the actions were performed intentionally and open an administrative case. As a result, the person may face a fine.
