5. After sending an electronic application, the applicant’s personal account will receive a message about its acceptance by the department of the Main Department of Migration Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and a receipt form for payment of the state fee with a 30% discount.
6. An invitation to an appointment indicating the time and date of the visit will be sent to the personal account of the recipient of the public service from the territorial department of the Main Directorate for Migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Through MFC

To submit an application through the MFC, you must make an appointment in advance to save time. Pre-registration is made by telephone, in person to the hall administrator and via the Internet (in some regions).

If you were unable to sign up in advance, you can go to the administrator and take an electronic queue coupon, wait for your number to be called and go to the named window.

The application can be filled out in advance or in front of an MFC employee.

Important! The signature on the application must be placed only in the presence of an official for identification!

After submitting the application and all the necessary documents, the MFC employee issues a receipt of their acceptance indicating the date of receipt of the new passport.

Note! When issuing a biometric document, digital photography and fingerprint scanning are performed at the MFC on the day of application!

It begins, however, with the replacement of a general civil ID. At the same time, the application for a new Russian passport must be submitted exactly within the established 30 days, otherwise a fine cannot be avoided.

The most important block concerns work activity over the past 10 years. The basic rules for filling out can be briefly summarized as follows:

• Russian language;
• text – handwritten or typed;
• font: only capital letters for biometric or lowercase for old passport format;

Appendix 2 to the application

In the process of filling out the form, it is possible that there may simply not be enough space to enter data in order to exchange a foreign passport when changing your last name. The solution will be to fill out a special application, which is submitted along with the application form.

Typically, this need arises when the applicant has changed his personal data several times. In this case, in the questionnaire itself it is necessary to indicate only information about the first change; all previous facts must be stated in the application.

Please note that first, in the application for making changes to a foreign passport when changing your last name, you must indicate the data that is currently available:

• FULL NAME;
• floor;
• Date of Birth.

Of course, according to the new rules, children must have personal travel passports. Deadlines

• 3 photographs (for registration of an old-style document);

• documents confirming the need for urgent registration of a passport (certificates, conclusions from medical institutions in case of need for treatment abroad, certificates about the health status of relatives).

Deadline for replacing a passport when changing your last name

The period for issuing a new document when changing your last name ranges from 1 to 4 months, depending on the type of passport you receive and the place where you submit your application.

In some cases, the period for obtaining a passport can be reduced to 3 days in the following cases:

• presence of a sick relative abroad;
• need for treatment abroad;
• death of a relative.

Note! A shortened period for obtaining a foreign passport is possible only if you receive an old-style passport valid for 5 years!

What to do if your old foreign country has a visa

You may encounter a situation where your last name changes and you still have a valid visa in your passport. In this case, the situation is again twofold. Immediately after changing your last name, you can go abroad - no problems should arise. However, it will be impossible to obtain new visas in a passport with the old surname. But if you don’t need to apply for new visas, you can travel under the old one.

There is no penalty for late replacement of a passport.

Price

The cost of obtaining a new passport is established by Art. 333.28 Tax Code of the Russian Federation.

The amount of the state fee payable for obtaining a new document depends on the type of passport being issued.

If an application is submitted through the government services portal, the applicant is given a 30% discount on the state fee.

Payment of the state fee is made only on behalf of the person receiving the passport.

Replacement procedure

To replace a foreign passport, you must either personally contact the territorial office of the Main Administration for Migration Affairs or the MFC at your place of residence, or submit an online application through the State Services portal.

When applying in person, you must provide a package of documents:

• Application to change a foreign passport;
• Passport with a new surname - original and copy;
• Old passport;
• Marriage certificate or certificate of change of name/surname;
• 4 photographs measuring 35 by 45 mm;

Validity of a passport with the same last name

According to Russian law, a foreign passport with the same last name is valid until the main document is replaced (within 30 calendar days).

If the owner’s personal data changes, the passport is invalidated and a new document must be issued. Using a document with the same last name is a violation of the rules for traveling outside the Russian Federation.

After marriage, many women continue to travel using a foreign passport with the same last name, taking advantage of the fact that when crossing the border, border service workers do not compare the data of the internal and foreign passports.

Traveling outside the Russian Federation and entering the Russian Federation after 1 month from the date of changing your last name is illegal!

Note! When contacting Russian government agencies to confirm the identity of a citizen of the Russian Federation abroad, in the event of loss of a document or the occurrence of a medical insurance event, a violation of the rules for traveling outside the Russian Federation will be revealed.

How quickly do they do it?

A foreign passport of any type can be produced within one calendar month.

1. If the document is not prepared at the place of registration, you will need to wait up to 3 calendar months.
2. If a citizen is seriously ill, the death of his close relatives occurred abroad, or there is a need for emergency treatment that requires travel outside the Russian Federation, then the registration period can be reduced to 3 days.
3. If we are talking about a citizen who had access to state secrets or other important information, then the period increases to 3 months. The deadlines begin to be calculated from the moment the documents are submitted.
