Statistics of marriages and divorces in Russia by year in table form (2020)

Official statistics of divorces in Russia

In 2021, the number of divorces decreased by 9% or 56,476 divorces compared to 2019. At the same time, the number of officially registered marriages decreased more significantly, by 21% or 179,407 marriages. It is likely that many couples, due to the restrictions imposed and the epidemiological situation, decided to postpone their wedding celebration until next year. But the pandemic did not frighten those getting divorced so much; for the majority, the shackles of marriage turned out to be worse than viruses.

The number of registered marriages in 2021 is 770,760, in 2019 – 950,167.

The number of divorces filed in 2021 is 564,033, in 2019 – 620,730.

According to the Federal State Statistics Service and the Unified Interdepartmental Information and Statistical SystemAccording to the Federal State Statistics Service and the Unified Interdepartmental Information and Statistical System,
over the past 20 years the number of divorces in Russia has begun to gradually decline, but this trend is very unstable. The highest number of divorces over the past 70 years was recorded in 2002 - 853,647 divorces, and over the past 20 years, a jump in the divorce rate was observed in 2008 - 703,412 divorces.

And, on the contrary, Russian citizens divorced the least over the past 30 years in the covid year of 2021.

What percentage of marriages break up?

According to EMISS data, 73% of marriages in Russia broke up in 2021; for comparison, 65% of marriages broke up in 2021 and 2021. 30 years ago this ratio was 42%, and 70 years ago only 4% of marriages broke up.

How many marriages and divorces were registered in 2021?

The number of registered marriages is directly related to the number of newborn children in previous years. According to the head of the laboratory of quantitative methods for studying regional development of the Russian University of Economics named after G.V. Plekhanov Elena Egorova, “new families are now being actively created by young people in the age group of 25-29 years old - echoes of the last Soviet baby boom. This explains some of the increase in the number of marriages.”

However, in the 90s, the birth rate fell by almost one and a half times compared to the 80s, perhaps this is one of the factors in the reduction in the registration of marriages in recent years. Since marriages between men and women are currently most often registered at the age of 25-34 years.

According to the results of sociological research by VTsIOM, the most common reasons why Russians get married were identified:

  1. procreation and the birth of children;
  2. understanding and support from the spouse;
  3. creation of a cozy home, comfortable life;
  4. because of the need to feel needed, to take care of someone.

It is interesting that predominantly childless couples (48%) get divorced, slightly less often (34%) families with one child and only 16.5% of couples with two children. Based on these figures, we can conclude that the birth of children brings the family together and reduces the risk of divorce.

Childless couples divorce mainly in the period from 6 to 9 years of marriage. Breaking up a relationship after 10-14 years of marriage happens much less frequently (in 13% of cases).

According to Elena Egorova, the reduction in the number of divorces in recent years is also due to the fact that “in Russia, the number of unregistered marriages is still growing, and accordingly, there are fewer divorces. At the same time, unlike marriages, people decide to divorce even after a year, five and twenty years from the moment the family was formed.

Since the number of marriages has been declining for quite some time, the number of divorces is also falling.”

If we look at marriages and divorces from a regional perspective, we can identify regions that are leaders and regions that are outsiders.

The most marriages registered in 2021 were in:

  1. St. Petersburg (76 marriages per 10,000 people);
  2. Kamchatka Territory (70 marriages per 10,000 people);
  3. Sakhalin region (70 marriages per 10,000 people);
  4. Sevastopol (69 marriages per 10,000 people).

The least likely people got married in 2021 were:

  1. Nenets Autonomous Okrug (36 marriages per 10,000 people);
  2. Leningrad region (36 marriages per 10,000 people);
  3. Ingushetia (37 marriages per 10,000 people);
  4. Chuvashia (38 marriages per 10,000 people);
  5. Kalmykia (38 marriages per 10,000 people);
  6. Mordovia (38 marriages per 10,000 people).

According to a survey by VTsIOM, 77% of Russians are of the opinion that it is necessary to officially register relationships.

According to other surveys, about 40% of divorced citizens claimed that they got divorced because they were too hasty in choosing a partner. And sociologists decided to derive a formula for an ideal marriage:

Choosing a life partner = several months of relationship + year of cohabitation + registration of relationship.

You need to look for brides in the Ivanovo, Yaroslavl, Tula and Novgorod regions; there are more of them there than in other regions. And for grooms, go to Moscow, the Moscow region or the Krasnodar Territory; in these regions there are most men who are not in a registered relationship.

The leading regions in the number of divorces in 2021 were:

  1. Sakhalin region (51 divorces per 10,000 people);
  2. Magadan region (51 divorces per 10,000 people);
  3. Kaliningrad region (50 divorces per 10,000 people).

The least divorced in 2021 were in:

  1. Ingushetia (10 divorces per 10,000 people);
  2. Chechnya (10 divorces per 10,000 people);
  3. Dagestan (17 divorces per 10,000 people);
  4. Republic of Tyva (18 divorces per 10,000 people).

Why do divorces happen?

Experts have identified a list of reasons why the number of marriages is decreasing and the divorce rate is quite high.

Social surveys made it possible to find out the most common reasons for divorce in Russia:

  • drug and alcohol addiction – 41%;
  • lack of personal property – 26%;
  • continuous interference of relatives in personal life – 14%;
  • impossibility for any reason to have a child (health problems, unwillingness of a spouse, lack of finances, etc.) – 8%;
  • long periods during which spouses live separately from each other – 6%;
  • one of the spouses goes to prison;
  • long-term, severe, incurable illness of a partner – 1%.

With the rapid development of the Internet and its growing popularity over the past 5 years, social networks have become another reason why divorces occur.

At the St. Petersburg Psychoanalytic Center, experts interviewed people and found that social networks lead to divorce in 15% of cases. In the near future, this figure will increase annually: the number of Internet users is increasing, many people are becoming addicted to virtual life.

Experts also identified a list of reasons that prevent the destruction of a marriage:

  • each spouse wants to keep the child/children for themselves – 35%;
  • difficulties in dividing jointly acquired property – 30%;
  • one of the spouses is financially dependent on the other – 22%;
  • one of the spouses categorically refuses to divorce – 18%.

According to statistics, in approximately 70% of cases, the initiators of divorce are women whose age does not exceed 50 years. In the capital of the Russian Federation, this figure is 80% of cases. Young women are more “active” in initiating divorce.

Experts believe the following: the reason that women most often want to end their marriage is their increased demands on the quality of family life, compared to men.

After 50 years, men often file for divorce when their children have become adults and independent, so there is no need to pay alimony. In addition, there are men over 50 years of age who are ready to marry a younger woman.

The most common causes of divorce in modern families

Now people have a lot of ways to meet each other, get to know each other as closely as possible and study each other's characters and interests. However, marriages continue to fall apart. We decided to ask the expert a question about the possible reasons for divorce that people indicate in their applications. According to her, the first reason is the wrong choice of partner.

“Many people do not know how to choose the right marriage partner. In fact, many people have incorrect criteria for choosing a marriage partner. In their youth, many people motivate themselves due to hormonal background or some other factors, but when they come together, it turns out that they are completely different and completely unsuitable for each other. For this reason, many conflicts and quarrels arise.”

The second reason, according to the specialist, is loss of perceptual acuity. A woman or man who gets married relaxes, stops caring for themselves, and thereby discourages their partner’s interest. The psychologist explained that there is such a thing as an “advertising campaign,” which manifests itself at the stage of building relationships. During dates, partners try to please each other and show only their positive sides. However, after the wedding, the character of each of them emerges.

Another reason for divorce can be called upbringing itself. This aspect is much deeper. For example, daughters very often repeat the unlucky fate of their mothers and are unable to build a personal life. While men may simply be afraid of women because of grafted complexes.

The list of reasons for divorce does not end there. There may be a loss of interest in a partner, a reluctance to work on the relationship, or simple betrayal.

“As a rule, 80% of divorces occur due to the fact that the wrong partner was chosen.”

Current attitude towards marriage

The statistics in domestic registry offices are quite sad: every year the popularity of official registration of marriages decreases. At the same time, the difference between the number of marriages and the number of divorces is decreasing every year.

Currently, civil marriage has become popular. From a legal point of view, this marriage is an ordinary cohabitation. Such a union does not provide the spouses with any obligations or rights regarding each other.

According to statistics, the number of divorces has increased significantly over the past couple of years.

On average, the age of officially separating couples ranges from 18-35 years. It is noted that marriages registered before 30 years of age actually last longer than marriages concluded later.

From a psychological point of view, this phenomenon is explained as follows: the older a person gets, the lower his tolerance for his partner’s character traits, habits and behavior. Over time, people gain more and more freedom and independence, get used to comfort, and find it more difficult to achieve contact and agreement.

Divorce concept

Divorce means the dissolution of an official marriage union and making a corresponding entry in the registry office.

Legislative regulation of divorce is carried out:

  • Family Code;
  • Law No. 143 “On Civil Status Acts”;
  • Government Decree No. 1274;
  • Order of the Ministry of Justice No. 144.

Articles 18-25 of the RF IC determine the methods of divorce depending on the legal status of the spouses and the presence of children, articles 31-38 of Law No. 143 regulate the general procedure for conducting the procedure in the registry office, and Resolution No. 1274 and Order No. 144 provide forms for application forms for divorce depending on the specific situation.

Marriage audit: from intentions to actions

The quality of relationships in the family, the duration of the marriage, the age and education of the spouses, common children - all this undoubtedly influences the preservation of the union. But there is another significant factor - the intentions of the partners associated with their assessment of the marriage.

Drawing on the theory of planned behavior, which links intentions and actions, the researchers decided to look at how often dissatisfaction with the quality of relationships and thoughts of divorce actually destroy families.

People often implement the scenario that was thought out in advance. Therefore, demographers use the theory of planned behavior when analyzing reproductive intentions and decisions (how many children wanted and how many eventually appeared), marital behavior (the choice of an official or unregistered union - cohabitation, the planned number of marriages, etc.).

Using panel data from three waves of the survey “Parents and Children, Men and Women in the Family and Society” (RiDMiZh, 2004, 2007 and 2011), Elena Churilova and Sergei Zakharov analyzed how often married Russians have recently thought about breaking up with their partner and In the end they really diverged.

“We are interested in how believable declarative statements about the intention to separate are,” explains the researcher. “We look at the answers of respondents whose relationships with their partners last for different periods of time.”

Official figures

Considering the statistics on the number of marriages and divorces in Russia from 1940 to 2021 as a percentage, it is worth highlighting the following pattern:

  • In the 1940s, there was an average of 1 divorce for every 6 families. Thus, the number of divorces in Russia at that time was approximately 17%.
  • In the fifties the situation improved markedly. During this period, the number of divorces per 1000 marriages was approximately 120. Official statistics in Russia give an indicator for this period indicating that about 12% of couples separate during this historical period of the country. This is one of the highest indicators for the entire remaining period in Russia to this day. At this stage of the country's development, the fewest couples break up.

Then the situation with divorce rates in Russia only worsened:

  • During the first decade of the new century, the situation looked too disastrous, although only in the first half (from approximately 2000 to 2005). There were too few marriages - up to 1 million, and against this background the number of divorces was too high. The figure ranged from 600,000 to 800,000. Thus, the dissolution of relationships in Russia occurred in 6 or 8 cases out of 10.
  • Then the situation improved somewhat. The number of marriages peaked in 2011–2012 at over 1,300,000. But the number of divorces during this period decreased slightly and fluctuated around the 700,000 mark.
  • It is worth noting that further the statistics of termination in Russia by year, until 2021, remains unchanged from that moment - on average it is about 610,000.
  • But marriage statistics since 2012 indicate that this number is consistently falling.

Statistics of marriages and divorces in the world: Russia is again among the leaders in the 2021 anti-rating

The demographic situation in a state is the main measure of the quality of life of its population. One of the indicators of the state of demography is the statistics of marriages and divorces, since this indicator makes it possible to see how much people want to start families, have children and raise future generations of their fellow citizens. In some countries, this is still considered the most important responsibility of an individual. But as the statistics of marriages and divorces in Russia and throughout Europe testify, the attitude towards this social phenomenon is no longer what it used to be. This trend covers half of the globe, but as we will see later, in some post-Soviet countries the situation with marriages and divorces has become simply catastrophic. This once again confirms the thesis that the efficiency of the system of public administration and social policy here is very low.

Unfortunately, in terms of marriage and divorce rates, modern Russia is far from being in the leading positions. More recently, creating a new unit of society and ensuring its prosperity was considered a prerequisite for a person to live a full life, but now people’s morals have changed. In terms of the number of divorces, Russia is in first place in Europe and is also one of the leaders in this anti-rating in the world. The average number of divorces in Russia per year is 4.2 per 1000 population, while in Europe as a whole it is 1.9. Of all the countries in the world, the situation is worse only in the Maldives – 10.9. Russia’s closest “competitors” in terms of this indicator are Belarus (3.4), Ukraine, Latvia and Lithuania (3.1 each), which proves a certain similarity of mentalities and social traditions in these countries.

Psychological aspects of divorce

The cornerstone of all human problems, including those related to the inability to build family relationships, is the psychological immaturity of the individual. In other words – infantilism. The phenomenon is widespread and very difficult to eradicate in our time due to blurred values and lack of moral guidelines.

It manifests itself in the reluctance and inability to take responsibility, the refusal to rely on oneself, and the search for external sources of emotional and material comfort.

It is not surprising that the initiators of divorce are more often women - gender stereotypes allow them to remain weak and dependent almost into old age, but such indulgences, as a rule, have to be paid dearly. The faster a person grows up, the more successful and happier his life will be.

One of the consequences of personal immaturity is egocentrism. It eats away at a marriage like rust - gradually but inevitably. A family union of two egocentrics is doomed to a quick divorce and rarely lasts longer than three years. If in a couple only one spouse suffers from egocentrism, the other can carry everything on himself for quite a long time. But sooner or later the cup of patience is overflowing, and he leaves, leaving the second one in bewilderment and confusion.

The main reasons for divorce in Russia

The main reasons for divorce in Russia

Source:

From the infographics below, we can conclude that the main reason for divorce is related to the low preparation of young people for family life. All the knowledge that those getting married draw either from their family, which is not always prosperous, or from the Internet, and so on.

At what age do people get married?

According to statistics, the age of women and men getting married has become significantly higher in recent years, and today the bar is 25-27 years old. Today this is an innovation compared to the 90s of the last century, and the age of those wishing to get married has increased significantly.

Although there is a gradual increase in age. Many 25-year-old people got married back in the 90s; in 2000, the rate increased significantly. Today the average age of people getting married is 25-35 years. In 2010, the age group of 25-30 years old became the leading one among those getting married. Today, young people have become less active and do not rush to the registry office to get married and get a stamp in their passport. Many people prefer to live in a civil marriage.

In recent years, early marriages before the age of 18 have become simply uninteresting for extras. Their number is minimal and in Russia is no more than 0.2%.

Men

If we take into account the age of the men who want to get married, then the age group of 25-30 years is in the lead. The number of marriages at this age is 33% or 1/3 of all marriages. Further:

  • Group 2 and age – 20-25 years;
  • Group 3 and age – 30-35 years with approximately the same percentage of 70-75% of all marriages.

Most men get married between the ages of 20-35. The share of early marriages or the young group under 20 years old accounts for only 2.5% of marriages. No more than 0.1% of marriages were recorded among men under 18 years of age. But an interesting fact was the growing trend of men getting married after 60 years. There were 5% more of them compared to young men aged 18-19 years.

Women

Statistics on women are such that most of them get married in the age category of 20-25 years. This is the largest percentage – 77%. The following age categories:

  • 27-30 years old – 38-40%;
  • 30-35 years old – 12% of the total number of women getting married.

Dividing the age of women into 3 categories, we can conclude that the majority get married at 20-25 years old. As a rule, the threshold is the same for men and women. All of them most often get married at this age.

Judicial divorce statistics

In 2021, more than 66% of all marriages were dissolved in court, of which more than 80% of married couples had minor children together. In approximately 87 out of 100 divorces (in which there were children), alimony was awarded.

According to the Judicial Department of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation
According to the Judicial Department of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation

About 4% of all divorced couples formalize the division of property in court.

The value of property in every third case exceeded 2 million rubles, in every fifth - 1 million rubles, in every seventh it was in the range from 500 thousand to 1 million rubles. Only a relatively small number of divorced couples shared property worth less than 300 thousand rubles.

In general, among all family disputes, 50% of cases are demands for divorce, about one third are cases of collection of alimony for child support. The percentage of other litigation is much smaller.

According to the Judicial Department of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation

On June 19, 2021, data from a VTsIOM survey about modern fathers and their role in raising children appeared. Thus, the majority of respondents believe that relations between fathers and children in Russian families are gradually improving.

When asked what indicates a father’s responsible attitude towards raising children, respondents answered as follows:

36% prioritize material support and the ability to purchase everything they need;

32% believe that a father’s responsible attitude towards his child can be judged by whether he plays educational games with him, teaches him any applied skills, etc.

28% indicated that a father can be judged by whether he teaches his child how to resolve conflicts and find solutions in difficult situations.

Difference between divorce and termination of marriage

According to Art. 16 of the Family Code, the termination of a marriage may be due to:

  • death of any of the spouses;
  • declaring one of the spouses dead by a court decision;
  • dissolution of the union (divorce) at the request of one or both spouses.

Thus, the termination of a marriage is a broader concept that includes divorce itself as a forced breakup of the marriage union by the spouses, as well as the natural breakup of the union due to the death of the spouses.

At-risk groups

Psychologists identify several factors that increase the likelihood of divorce. The first of them is age. The optimal period for starting a family is considered to be from 23 to 30 years. The person has already completed his studies, separated from his parents and entered into an independent adult life.

Too early marriages, as a rule, are concluded solely on emotions without taking into account common sense and prospects for the future. Young people have an idealized and romanticized idea of marriage. They project beautiful stories from films and books onto their lives, but in them, as a rule, they are silent about the mortgage, socks scattered around the apartment, division of family responsibilities and other “delights” of family life.

Everything has its time

After thirty, an individual becomes completely self-sufficient, acquires social status and financial opportunities, and it becomes difficult for him to fit another person into his well-established and comfortable life.

The second factor contributing to the breakdown of a family is the excessive passion of one of the spouses for their career. Workaholism is becoming increasingly widespread today. But this is also an addiction, like gambling addiction, shopaholism and compulsive overeating - sooner or later it leads to the destruction of personality.

The only difference is that workaholism has recently become a socially acceptable type of addiction, in some cases even encouraged. A man who works around the clock seems like a good option for starting a family, in contrast to a slacker who disappears around the clock in the virtual worlds of computer games.

When harsh reality reveals itself in all its glory, it is usually too late. The passport is already stamped and the rings are on.

Marriages of convenience also very often end in divorce. Material wealth cannot in any way compensate for the emotional component of a relationship. In addition, as a rule, these are unequal marriages. Needless to say, age, culture, and financial gaps have a negative impact on family life.

Statistics of marriages and divorces in the world: Russia is again among the leaders in the 2021 anti-rating

  • dispute for leadership in the family, constant rivalry;
  • visible cooperation - the distribution of roles in the family ceases to coincide with the desires of each spouse, but the realization comes that one needs to live by the rules, follow certain boundaries. Such behavior leads to the fact that everyone begins to live their own lives. Often in such a situation, they decide to save the family for the sake of the well-being of the children or the reluctance to share living space. Problems arise in sex, intimacy is mechanical in nature. At this stage, relationships on the side often arise.

According to statistics, among people living in a common-law family, marriage by marriage is often successful. After all, the partners already have a serious and long-term relationship, they have built their way of life and know how to solve problems that arise among themselves. In this case, a marriage by marriage is practically no different from an ordinary marriage.

Post-divorce research.

The end of a marriage is a major stressor for most people. It does not matter whether the initiator was the one or whether the separation was by mutual consent.

Studies and statistical surveys show that divorced people get sick 2 times more often than married people. The life expectancy of single people is also lower than that of married people. Divorce often causes a heart attack.

Sociological research suggests that only a third of divorced women manage to remarry, and it is not always happy.

At the same time, it is believed that it is much easier for a single man to find his other half and get married. Therefore, a woman’s initiative in the case of divorce is often in vain.

Number of divorces by number of children

But depending on how many children are born in a family, the factor directly affects the duration of family life. The following trend is observed:

  • The more children there are in a family, the less couples feel the desire to separate.
  • The lowest rates are where there are 2 or more children.
  • The highest rates are where there are no common children.
  • Although, over the past 5 years there has been a trend towards a decrease in the number of divorces in childless couples.
  • But where there are more than 2 children, the number of divorces has almost doubled in 5 years.

Facts about dissolution of marriages

  • The most crisis time for a family is from 5 to 9 years. If a married couple has two or more children, then the possibility of divorce decreases. Of course, in some situations, neither long-term marriage nor children are able to keep two spouses together.
  • According to information provided by Rosstat, newlyweds prefer the summer months to register their marriage, and the spring months to dissolve it.
  • In 2021, about 19% of married couples officially broke up. They were together for 10-20 years. At the same time, divorces are often observed among couples who have lived together for 1 or 2 years. In 2016, according to Rosstat statistics, approximately a quarter of couples separated during this period of family life.
  • Families rarely break up in the first year of marriage - only 4.7% of such cases were identified. Family ties that lasted for 20 years or longer were dissolved in about 13% of situations in 2021.
  • Statistics indicate that the more children a family has, the greater the likelihood that the marriage will not be dissolved. Thus, in 2016, officially separated spouses in 56.7% of cases did not have children together.
  • A third of divorces occur in families consisting of parents and one child. If a couple has two or more children, the likelihood of divorce is significantly reduced. in 2021, 12.1% of divorces were observed in families in which 2 or more children lived.

Civil marriage

In 2021, the State Duma received a bill recognizing long-term cohabitation as virtually equal to an officially registered marriage, in terms of regulating the property relations of the parties. The essence of the bill was that property acquired by such couples during the period of cohabitation could be recognized as their joint property and divided upon separation.

Currently, the division of property between cohabitants is possible in exceptional cases, but not within the framework of family law, but according to the norms of civil law.

But the State Duma rejected this bill already at the first reading stage, considering that it contradicts traditional family values. The deputies noted that the signs of a marriage relationship are very vague and it is quite difficult to determine the exact terms of cohabitation.

If the document were adopted, then it would be advisable to apply the same requirements to cohabitants as to official spouses: reaching marriageable age, the absence of other registered marriages, the absence of close kinship, and the presence of full legal capacity.

The following could apply to “common-law” spouses:

  • the right of access to the intensive care unit to the spouse;
  • the right to refuse to give any testimony in court against a spouse;
  • the right to receive a visit from a husband or wife in a pre-trial detention center;
  • the right to receive inheritance by law after the death of a spouse;
  • the obligation to obtain consent from the spouse when making real estate transactions, etc.

Let's think together about how the situation with divorces in Russia will be in the future?

Number of divorces from 2010 to the present time

Domestic registry offices maintain detailed statistics related to the issues of concluding a union between couples. Unfortunately, she says that partners are increasingly less likely to resort to official registration of the union, preferring civil marriage. At the same time, the gap between the registration of marriages and their dissolution is rapidly melting.

The popularity of cohabitation is explained by the lack of understanding on the part of partners of their true position. Due to the refusal to legitimize their relationship, they are in limbo, without rights and responsibilities towards each other. Simply, such relationships are not serious and cannot be considered a full-fledged family one.

According to official data, the situation regarding divorces and marriages in the country is pessimistic. This is evidenced by the summary table:

Year Number of marriages, thousand Number of divorces, thousand Ratio of divorces and marriages in percentage
2010 1215,1 639,3 52,6
2011 1316 669,4 50,9
2012 1213,6 644,1 53,1
2013 1225,5 668 54,5
2014 1226 693,7 56,6
2015 1161,1 611,6 52,7
2016 985,8 608,3 61,7
2017 1049,7 611,4 58,2

In accordance with the data presented, we can conclude that the situation with divorces in the country is worsening.

In addition, it is important to know that most often couples break off their relationships, the age of the partners in which is in the range from 18 to 35 years. However, if the spouses entered into a union before they reached the age of thirty, then the risk of divorce is noticeably reduced. This can be explained by the fact that with age, the parties have mutual claims due to increased demands on each other.

Experts concluded that this situation arose due to the registration of relationships between citizens born in the early nineties. At the same time, this generation spent their childhood in unfavorable conditions, which left an imprint on their behavior today. At the same time, there are many factors that negatively affect the demographic situation.

Reduced divorces

Recently, since approximately the 2000s, there has been a steady decline in the overall number of divorces.

The statistics of early family relationships is declining, as are happy ones. But with foreigners and repeat visits it has increased somewhat, especially in comparison with the Soviet period and the beginning of the 90s.

The duration in all regions of Russia, including Moscow, has decreased slightly compared to the Soviet period, but has increased compared to the last decade. To make the ratio of marriages and divorces less frightening, a set of measures implemented at the state level is needed. These include:

  • General improvement in the financial situation in the country.
  • Salary increase.
  • Providing a high level of medical care that will help eliminate problems with non-fertility of children for medical reasons.
  • Special social programs that are aimed at strengthening the family.
  • Various events and activities that, from school age, will teach you to value family and children on a psychological level.

All this will help increase the average marriage rate and its duration, as well as the number of children that will be born in each family.
