Article 10 of the RF IC. Marriage (current version)

Not so long ago, there was only one type of marriage in society between a man and a woman, but recently other forms of registration of relationships have begun to appear. The portal www.svadebka.ws will tell you about the types of family marriage, ranging from classical to non-traditional. Some are happy about new forms of marriage, and some do not want to recognize them at all.

What types of marriages can there be?

Sororate

The opposite of levirate is sororate marriage. Such atypical weddings are practiced in the native communities of North America and India. In a sorority union, a widowed man is obliged to marry the sister of his deceased wife. In some cultures, sororate is also permitted in cases where the first wife turns out to be infertile. Then the children that the second wife gives birth to belong to the first wife.

Difficult marriage

In the 19th century, American John Humphrey Noyes founded a utopian community called Oneida. Noyes argued that the Bible contains no reference to the existence of traditional marriages in Paradise. Therefore, he encouraged his followers to practice "complicated marriage." It was understood that all Oneida members were each other's wives and husbands.

Noyes called monogamy and jealousy sinful and idolatrous manifestations. Moreover, members of the community punished all people who preferred monogamous relationships.

Definition of the concept

Partnership is a type of relationship that implies complete equality between spouses. The most traditional family options are patriarchy and matriarchy. If in the first case the leading role is played by a man, then in the second - a woman. Partnership relationships are designed for joint decision-making and organization of shared life.

Many people who adhere to traditional models of family relationships argue that partnerships are based solely on banal calculations. Such an opinion is one-sided and not viable, since statistics say that the marriage of the partner option is often the strongest and happiest.

The scheme of partnership interaction between spouses is as follows:

  • Agreement on the format of the relationship. Before getting married, it is recommended to organize some form of “round table” and discuss with each other the format of future relationships. The conversation should take place in a calm atmosphere and without the interference of relatives and strangers. If both future spouses plan to be equal partners in marriage, then their decision must be mutual and sincere.
  • Distribution of duties. To avoid mutual claims and future discontent, it is better to discuss in advance who will be responsible for what exactly in the family. If future spouses agree on each other’s responsibilities, they will be able to protect themselves from many conflict situations.
  • Discussion of spouses' rights. How many times have you heard a friend complain that her husband ran off on another fishing trip or spent another Saturday evening with friends in the pub? Often, it is the claims of spouses to each other regarding their rights and freedoms that become the cause of major scandals. It is better to immediately discuss this point at the beginning of married life, so as not to experience a gnawing sense of resentment in the future.
  • Finding a way to resolve conflict situations. No matter how the spouses try to protect their relationship from quarrels and insults, it will still not be possible to completely eliminate their likelihood. That is why it is worth agreeing in advance that all controversial issues will be discussed not in a fit of anger, but at a family council.

Important Partnership relationships are an ideal type of interaction for accomplished and self-sufficient individuals who cannot tolerate self-control.

Tunchi

Acceptance of homosexuality in the Middle Kingdom remains extremely low. Because of this, most gay men are forced to solve their problem by marrying heterosexual women.

According to a reputable Chinese sexologist, 90% of homosexuals in the country resort to this method. Marriage between a gay man and a straight woman is called “tunchi”. The worst thing is that before marriage, women generally do not even suspect their partner’s orientation. But after they start living together, an unpleasant surprise awaits them.

Main types of marriage: how can you cement a union between two lovers?

Recently, most lovers decide for themselves what kind of relationship they want to build with each other. Let's talk about the types of marriage that are most often found in classical families in the modern world:

  1. Official marriage. Many of us associate a civil union with cohabitation without a list. In fact, this type, on the contrary, involves the official registration of marriage in the registry office, and lovers become husband and wife according to documents. From a legal point of view, this type of marriage presupposes that the spouses have responsibilities.
  2. Official marriage between a man and a woman in the registry office

  3. Church marriage (wedding procedure). With this form, the couple formalizes their union in the church, which in some countries has legal force. In Russia, for example, a wedding has no legality, and before it (or after it) you must sign at the registry office. This type of marriage speaks not only of the willingness of lovers to be together in earthly life, but also to preserve their family in heaven.
  4. Church marriage - wedding

  5. Actual marriage. Simply put, this is the cohabitation of a man and a woman without official family registration. Often such cohabitation is called a civil marriage, but, as we mentioned above, this is wrong. The mere cohabitation of a couple does not imply that they (as spouses) have mutual rights and obligations.

Marriage with spirits

The number of Baule people living in West Africa (mainly in Côte d'Ivoire) reaches 1.5 million people. Its representatives believe that long before birth, every person has to marry spirits . The phrase “blolo bian” is translated from the Baule language as “a man from another world,” and the phrase “blolo blah” is translated as “a woman from another world.”

In family quarrels between earthly Baule couples, the spirit spouses are often blamed for being jealous or unhappy. In such cases, spiritual guides advise cutting out a small figurine of blolo bian or blolo blah from wood, covering it with oil, dressing it, decorating it and bringing it to the temple. It is believed that this calms the spirit spouses and allows peace to be established in the earthly family.

Traditional same-sex marriage

Same-sex marriage was practiced everywhere in the past and was considered completely normal.

For example, Emperor Nero married his own eunuch, organizing a large-scale wedding celebration. The poets Marc Martial and Decimus Juvenal repeatedly mentioned same-sex unions in their works. The first treated homosexual marriages with disdain, while the second considered them a “fleeting love affair.”

Same-sex marriage was also practiced by American Indians (they generally believed in the existence of people of a third gender, called “berdashi”). And representatives of the Mohawk tribe, who lived on the territory of modern Canada, saw wonderful partners in homosexual men - “exceptionally diligent and hardworking wives .
True, it was difficult to divorce them, because male wives could stand up for themselves and even beat their husband.

What are the types and forms of marriage between a man and a woman?

There are about twenty types of union between a man and a woman.

  1. Group or couple marriage is the cohabitation of several girls with many men. This union is otherwise called the “Swedish family,” but the Swedes themselves do not recognize such a definition. Today, young people most often experiment with this form of union.
  2. An open marriage is a union of two people in which each allows sexual relations with partners on the side. The spouses themselves say that this way they increase the level of tolerance towards each other.
  3. A spiritual marriage is a union in which the husband and wife have mutually complementary types of thinking. Typically, such a union is chosen by people in adulthood, and most often it brings good results.
  4. Patriarchal marriage is a union of spouses whose purpose is the birth and upbringing of offspring. In another way, this union is called “children’s”. The patriarchal union includes several generations - elderly and young families (grandparents, mothers and fathers, etc.).
  5. Nuclear marriage is a family consisting of parents (parent) of one generation and their minor children. At the same time, elderly parents are not included in the family. This form of union is opposed to traditional patriarchal relationships, which include several generations.
  6. Marginal marriages are concluded by couples who are below the poverty line and produce a large number of children. The offspring produced beg, beg, and commit other illegal acts. These families are constantly in need of government support, which, according to some people, threatens economic disaster. In other words, these families, based on the name of the union, are considered by some people to be the scum of society.
  7. Equal marriages are a type of union in which the husband and wife are equal in status, age and worldview.
  8. Dynastic marriage is a union of members of ruling dynasties. Most often, such alliances were concluded based on established traditions and political interests.
  9. Dual marriages are unions in which the husband and wife represent psychological personality types that complement each other. Their relationship is based on support and mutual benefit. According to many, they are ideal for friendship, intimacy and creating a strong family.
  10. Structural marriages are families in which, for the convenience of life, a table has been compiled on the distribution of roles for each member.
  11. A partnership marriage is a union in which spouses accept each other as they are. They don't criticize or try to change each other. These families are strong, which is explained by a careful attitude towards the inner world of the partner.
  12. Dual-tribal marriage is a union that prohibits sexual relations within the clan. This type of family was formed during the primitive communal system and is maintained to this day.
  13. Karmic marriage is a relationship characteristic of Buddhists. According to their assumptions, the future husband and wife should create an alliance with a partner they knew from a past life. According to their belief, the spouse could be in a relationship, and also be a relative, parent or enemy.
  14. Matrilineal marriages are unions where the wife is in charge. They are characteristic of the Indians, Iroquois and Tuareg.
  15. Romanesque marriage was borrowed from France. It represents a family with equal rights between spouses.
  16. Complementary marriages are unions where each spouse plays the role of the relative with whom his partner lived in the same family before marriage. For example, my husband had a younger sister. Consequently, he will treat his wife the same way he treated his sister. The same thing with the wife: if she had an older brother, then the union with her husband will be a copy of the relationship with her spouse.
  17. Arranged marriages are unions decided upon by the parents of the future husband and wife.
  18. Cabin marriages are unions entered into to satisfy physiological needs. A man who enters into such a marriage avoids adultery. Such unions usually do not last long.

If a girl starts talking about a non-standard form of relationship, then perhaps she simply does not have enough attention. In this case, show her warmth and care, or better yet, give her a gold ring with diamonds like this.

All over the world, married couples live by their own rules. For some, polygamy is acceptable, while others cannot imagine life without fidelity to one spouse. Each family chooses its own path and strives to be happy. And in Russia, the classic union between a man and a woman is still popular, while other marriages are more often condemned by society. Times change, but for the most part people remember that faith in a loved one, love, loyalty and honor remain a priority.
