When is leave granted?

The lower limit of academic leave is six months. The upper limit of medical leave is 1 year. If leave is taken due to family circumstances, the maximum period will also be 1 year. Academic leave due to pregnancy and childbirth can be extended up to 6 years.

Students are exempt from studying for the period of compulsory military service for a year, and students serving under a contract may be exempt for 2 years.

The number of academic leaves is not limited. A student can exercise this right several times during his studies, the reasons may be different, the main thing is to provide supporting documents.

However, it should be noted that state-funded students have the right to continue their studies free of charge only after the expiration of the first academic leave. If such a student takes academic leave again, he must switch to a paid form of education.

Full-time students retain their deferment from military service only during their first academic leave.

During the period of academic leave, the student does not have the right to attend classes and take the exam. The responsibility for completing educational assignments is removed from him. Consequently, those tasks that he voluntarily completed during his academic leave are not counted towards further studies.

Attention! There is no minimum period for which a student must study in order to be eligible for academic leave. Thus, even a freshman who has just started studying can go on academic leave.

There is also no maximum period of study, which means that a graduate student can exercise the right to academic leave immediately before defending his diploma or passing exams.

The student has the right to leave vacation earlier than the appointed date. To do this, you will need to draw up a corresponding application addressed to the head of the educational institution. After the order is issued, the student has the right to continue studying.

It should be noted that an application for leave from academic leave will be required even if you leave it within the specified period.

If there is no application at the end of the academic leave period, the student is expelled. It does not take into account whether he attended training sessions or not.
